Flat Earthers Claim Australia Doesn't Exist And People Who Live There Are Actors Paid By NASA

A rising number of individuals seem to believe that the earth is, in fact, flat.  But it gets better. They also claim that Australia is a fake.

According to a popular Facebook rant, the whole country (and, by extension, the 24 million people who reside there) is a hoax. The idea was revived during a recent meeting of so-called Flat Earthers in Birmingham when over 200 individuals gathered to certify that the Earth is nothing more than a huge pancake.

The "fake Australia" post first appeared on Reddit in 2017 and was authored by Shelley Floryd. However, it seems to be returning to the minds of the spherically challenged at the minute.

The rant goes: "Australia is not real. It's a hoax, made for us to believe that Britain moved over their criminals to someplace. In reality, all these criminals were loaded off the ships into the waters, drowning before they could see land ever again. It's a coverup [sic] for one of the greatest mass murders in history."

Moreover, the post reckons that all Australians are nothing more than computer-generated personas or paid actors hired by NASA and if you've ever been Down Under yourself: "you're terribly wrong".

Surprisingly, the pilots seem to be all in on it - and have been flying you to areas of South America for years. Flat Earth beliefs have been debunked by almost everyone capable of logical thinking, yet the notion is now experiencing a revival.

Over 200 conspiracy theorists met in Birmingham at a hotel for the UK's first Flat Earth Convention. The three-day conference included nine speakers who took the stage to share their theories about why the Earth is flat.

According to The Telegraph, Dave Marsh, an NHS worker who spoke at the conference, said: “My research destroys big bang cosmology.

“It supports the idea that gravity doesn’t exist and the only true force in nature is electromagnetism.”

While NASA has used GPS, satellites, and photos from space to verify that the Earth is round, Flat Earth enthusiasts claim that they have proof that the space agency is lying.

    1. Five Eyes: Forget your Hiring Fee, I haven't received a cent, and didn't even know I was a NASA employee!

I'll be putting in for back pay, holiday pay, and long service leave!

Really? No, a rising number of people claim to because they enjoy trolling. Others read their comments, believe they're serious, and then write articles about them as if they're real. This isn't different than the whole "Birds Aren't Real" campaign of a few years back. Don't fall for it.

  4. Bugger - they're onto us. There goes the Australia gig. Where is a feller my age to get an honest job when there are 25 million or so other equally qualified actors thrown onto the market at the same time? I hope the NASA termination payment at least covers the cost of buying some buttons to sew onto my shirt for interviews.

  9. So the Earth cannot be a 3-dimensional round sphere, but it can be a 2-dimensional round disc? Come on. If the Earth must be flat, surely it must also be square.

And why not have the next Flat Earth Convention in Australia? Why not just go there and call the bluff? And why would the pilots be in on anything? Without gravity we could just float wherever we wanted to go.

  10. If this is true, then I'm not sure where my apparently-a-hoax flight to Australia took me. Though I do remember being fascinated that Orion was upside down (with Belegeuse on the bottom and Rigel at the top) and looking at stars and constellations I'd never seen before. So wherever it was, the hoaxers manage to put it inside some kind of massive dome with a false starscape. You really must respect their commitment to fooling us into believing the Earth is round...

  11. Oh, I see it now. The earth is flat. It just appears round because it is massive and curves spacetime.

  12. Is Australia mentioned anywhere in the Bible? Did Noah save the quokka or Qangaroo? Of course ti's fictitious, mate!

  13. I did a 3000 mile road trip in Australia 20 years ago - from Brisbane to Adelaide to Melbourne to Sydney, back to Melbourne, then back to Brisbane via Goulburn and Sydney.

I gotta say, that place is an amazing stage set, if it's a stage set. And the actors, if they were actors, were amazing - I had brief affairs with one guy in Colac, and another in Melbourne - and they never let on they were NASA actors!

  14. So, instead of Australia, these pilots just land you somewhere where they have put a different sky dome over you, with a sun that goes anti-clockwise through the sky and with constellations that are different.
